Isophorone Diamine (IPDA) Supplier

IPDA (isophorone diamine, CAS 2855-13-2) — a high-purity cycloaliphatic diamine used as an epoxy curing agent, a feedstock for IPDI, and a building block for high-performance coatings, polyaspartics and polyamide resins. Ambizent supplies IPDA to manufacturers worldwide, with a Certificate of Analysis on every shipment.

Isophorone diamine (IPDA) is a high-purity, cycloaliphatic diamine and one of the most versatile amines in coatings and polyurethane chemistry. Ambizent International Trading supplies IPDA to manufacturers worldwide — from a single drum to bulk — with a Certificate of Analysis on every shipment and full export documentation handled end to end.

What is isophorone diamine?

IPDA (CAS 2855-13-2, formula C10H22N2) is a colourless, low-viscosity cycloaliphatic diamine supplied at 99.7% or higher purity. Its rigid cycloaliphatic ring structure is what gives IPDA-based products their prized combination of colour stability, hardness, chemical resistance and weatherability — the reasons it is chosen over cheaper aliphatic amines in demanding coatings and composites.

Applications

Epoxy curing agent / hardener — protective & industrial coatings, flooring, adhesives, composites and wind-turbine blades.
IPDI feedstock — the raw material for isophorone diisocyanate, the aliphatic isocyanate behind light-stable PU coatings.
Polyaspartic & polyurea systems — fast-cure, high-durability coatings and linings.
Polyamide & polyamine resins — reactive polyamides, hot-melts and crosslinkers.

Because IPDA is the feedstock for IPDI, it sits at the head of the light-stable polyurethane coatings chain — making it strategically important to coatings, adhesives, composites and PU manufacturers alike.

Frequently asked questions

What is isophorone diamine (IPDA) used for?
IPDA is a cycloaliphatic diamine used mainly as an epoxy curing agent (hardener) for coatings, flooring, adhesives and composites, as a feedstock for isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), and in polyaspartic, polyurea and polyamide resin systems. Its cycloaliphatic structure gives good colour stability, chemical resistance and durability.
What is the CAS number of IPDA?
The CAS number of isophorone diamine is 2855-13-2. It is also known as 3-aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyclohexylamine, and its molecular formula is C10H22N2.
Is IPDA the same as IPDI?
No. IPDA (isophorone diamine) is an amine and is the raw material used to manufacture IPDI (isophorone diisocyanate), an aliphatic isocyanate. They are different products with different chemistry and uses, though closely linked in the value chain.
What purity and packaging is IPDA supplied in?
IPDA is typically supplied at 99.7% or higher purity. Ambizent can supply in drums, IBCs or bulk depending on volume and destination, each with a Certificate of Analysis. Tell us your required grade, quantity and port and we will quote.
Do you supply IPDA worldwide?
Yes. Ambizent supplies IPDA to manufacturers worldwide from our UAE base, with the documentation, packaging and Incoterms handled end to end. As a corrosive (UN 2289, Class 8), it ships with the appropriate dangerous-goods documentation.
